Trevor Williams

Trevor Williams is a man who likes a challenge. He has faced them in his military career and in other high powered jobs, but his latest and most demanding assignment will leave a legacy for generations.
As General Manager, he has the all-important job of designing, establishing and operating the Australian Technical College – Perth South.
He is a dedicated leader and management professional who has led a number of high profile learning and development related organisations and business units in the Army as well as in the private and public sectors, including a start up Registered Training Organisation for one of the most recognisable brands in the world.
Trevor has worked with Westrac Equipment Pty Ltd as Training and Development Manager, Caterpillar Institute WA as General Manager, Integrated Training as Skill Centre Manager and was State Manager WA for Chubb Training Group.
Trevor is now leading the start-up of the ATC - Perth South and with his extensive background in leadership and management, and his knowledge and experience of the training industry, he is perfectly suited to steer the ATC - Perth South into a college that will change and inspire the many students destined for its doors.
Trevor holds a Masters of Professional Studies (Instructional Systems), a Bachelor of Professional Studies, a Graduate Certificate in Applied Engineering Practice, an Associate Diploma in Personnel Administration, a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training and an Accredited Certificate in OHS Management.
Bala Suppiah
Business Manager
Australian Technical College – Perth South
Bala graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and The Media and has since completed a Masters of Science in Telecommunication Management. Bala worked in the Student Affairs Department of a polytechnic in Singapore for over 3 years. During this time, Bala was involved in community program management for students within the polytechnic. Prior to joining the ATC - Perth South, Bala was working for The Salvation Army Employment Plus as a Business Relationship Manager. He has designed, delivered and managed a range of training programs catering for clients from long term unemployed, young people and staff with Employment Plus. Bala has vast experience providing recruitment services for major corporations and organisation within mining, retail and health industries.
As Business Manager, Bala has the responsibility to manage all contractual obligations with the Government, management of the administration team and to source for government funding and support from the community.
Shane Jamieson
Campus Manager, Armadale Campus
Australian Technical College – Perth South
Shane has worked in education since 1999 as a teacher, Fast Track Coordinator and Head of Department. Prior to this he worked in the areas of agriculture, car restoration, electrical wholesale and mining.
Shane has a Bachelor of Commerce, Graduate Diploma of Education and a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment. Before joining the ATC - Perth South, Shane was the Head of Department at Northam Senior High School.
Simon Pfitzner
Campus Manager, Maddington Campus
Australian Technical College – Perth South
Simon has worked with Year 11 and 12 students for the Department of Education and Training as a Mechanical Trades Instructor for the past 10 years. Prior to this, Simon worked in the Mechanisation Industry in both the private and public sectors and in agriculture. Simon holds a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment. In addition to his initial qualification as an Industrial Plant Mechanic, he holds various supplementary certificates related to the Mechanisation Industry.
Simon comes to the ATC having been collaboratively involved in the development of integrated and contextualised curricula, focusing on the students’ trade aspirations whilst completing their WACE requirements. He has also been integral in developing and implementing the Farm Machinery Dealers Association – Mechanical Trade Program at a government agricultural college. This program was designed to assist in the transition from school to the workplace by focusing on the students’ being a successful apprentice in their chosen field.
Simon’s additional experiences in education include participation in: ‘on the job’ training of apprentices in the Mechanisation Industry, Work Experience for Year 11 and 12 students, the Enterprise Education Format and in particular catering for the needs of ‘boys in education’.
