Mr Randall was first elected to represent the Western Australia electorate of Canning in the House of Representatives in 2001. Canning has some heavy and light industry including bauxite mining, stone and citrus fruit orchards, beef and dairy farming, market gardens and forestry.
Mr Randall is the Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Roads and Transport, a position he has held since 2008. Prior to that Mr Randall held the position of Shadow Cabinet Secretary and Shadow Parliamentary Secretary to the Leader of the Opposition.
Prior to entering parliament Mr Randall was a Councillor with the Belmont City Council and was the Federal Member for Swan between 1996 and 1998. Before that he worked as a teacher for nearly twenty years and therefore recognises the valuable role of training and being work ready!
Mr Randall has served on many parliamentary committees including the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Employment, Workplace Relations and Workforce Participation and is currently on the Standing Committee on Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government. Under the previous Government he held the position of Chairman of the Joint Standing Committee on Migration.
Don is married to his wife Julie and has two children.
Tony Simpson MLA is the current Member for Darling Range and he is the Parliamentary Secretary to the Hon Robyn McSweeney MLC, Minister for Child Protection; Community Services; Seniors and Volunteering; Women's Interests. Due to this role, Tony has become involved with a number of different organisations and is currently a member of the board of the Dyslexic Speld Foundation, is the President of the WA Deaf Society, a member of the Byford & Districts Rotary Club and is the patron of the Serpentine Golf Club, as well as being invited to be a lifetime member of the Byford Kindergarten.
Tony has a very supportive wife in Kim and they share two daughters. Tony was involved in the establishment of the Serpentine Jarrahdale Grammar School, the first secondary school established in the Serpentine Jarrahdale Shire.
Tony is a firm believer in looking after the local environment and has spent many hours assisting local community groups with their clean-up days and busy bees.
Prior to being elected into Parliament, Tony was the local Byford Baker for 14 years, successfully running his own small business during this time. Tony was elected to the Serpentine Jarrahdale Shire Council in 2001.
Tony was the inaugural Chairman of the Byford and Districts Community Bank Branch and with nine other dedicated volunteers, successfully opened the Bendigo Bank in Byford in early 2005. This has gone on to be a very successful Community Bank which is contributing in many ways back to the local community.
